OOC Post: RP status 'n a buncha oth'r stuff.
If ya haven't noticed or ya been under a rock lately, we've not been as active as we usedta be. There's a lotta reasons for this, but the biggest one is just Real Life's been intruding some, particularly for Shara 'n me. My work schedule's kicked inta high gear lately, 'n even on the best of nights I've only got 'bout an hour and a half of good RP time. Then throw in th' nights where work or family winds up tyin' me up, 'n there's at least one night a week where I can't make it. Th' same goes for Shara too - sometimes she can't make it ta RP for lotsa reasons. Th' thing that sucks is we're the "leaders" (I use that term loosely, but I'm the captain and it's her ship, y'know...) - and since we're the leaders it means 99% of the time that SL is gonna be stalled 'til we get on. I wish it were different, but that's th' way it is.
Shara touched on some RP "rules" in her latest post on RP, and I agree with that, but I wanna emphasize tha' if we ain't havin' fun, we're doin' it wrong.
Havin' said that, we've got a SL goin' right now that's gonna pull some folks inta it who ain't been heard from in a while (ya may have seen some o' this already), as well as a new person 'r two. Stay tuned, this should be a lotta fun. :)

Ship wide announcement
(I typed this, and ran this through spell check a bunch so it's readable. Damn computer still doesn't get my accent.)
As of now, Liberty and her crew are all free agents. That's right, we don't work for NavKor anymore. Due to Shara's new ... condition ... and through some intense negotiations, I've gotten out of my contract with Navaar.
This has a lot of ramifications for each of you. To start, we won't be drawing a weekly paycheck anymore. That sucks, I know, but the upside is you all get a fatter share of each job we run. It may be feast or famine for a little bit, but we'll get it sorted out.
I'm going to ask of you to make your decisions now. If you can tolerate the shakiness in pay for a while, Shara and I would love to have you stay aboard. Your room and board on ship are covered, as always, so you won't go hungry. Some of you have families and other lifestyles that need a more steady paycheck, and we'll understand if you need to find other work.
So, now's your chance. See the galaxy with us, or all's ashore that's going ashore. Your choice, folks - no hard feelings if you're taking another path, and clear skies.

Capn's Log: #DeathOfShara
It ain't fair. It ain't right. This's her ship, not Navaar's, not Dash's, and damn sure not mine. She should be here. This's her home.
One minute she's makin' fun o' us fer bein' "paranoid", th' next she's lyin' on th' ground in a pool o' her own blood. Who woulda thought a plant would shoot karkin' poison darts like that?
Navaar prolly did, tha's who. Damn bitch. I gotta find out whut's in those classified files. I been hackin' on them fer hours, but I can't git in. I ain't good at this stuff. Gimme somethin' ta blow up, I'm yer guy. Movin' bits 'round... not so much.
I know who c'n help, tho, if she'll take my call.
I gotta know. I owe it ta Dash. I owe it ta her, too. She been kick'd 'round enough in life, she deserves th' truth 'bout her death.
Where's mah damned scotch? Oh, there it is.
I'm gonna try ta make it right. As right as I can now, anyhow. Everythin's all karked up.
I owe it ta her.
I shoulda told her.
I can't believe she's gone.

Capn's Log: Terra Nova
Anyway, Navaar's got us on this brand-spanking-new ship, th' Terra Nova. She's a Challenger-class ship -- whatever THAT means. Stoopa Alpha Quadrant ships. They got lotsa nice gadgets, 'n they sure are roomy, but I'll be damned if I can figure out what has what and why. This ship's supposedta have some kinda new drive system -- something called a "warpport" drive. From what I'm readin' it's some kinda cross between a transporter and a regular warp drive. I guess there's lotsa these "quadrants" where Navaar's from, 'n their "Starfleet" made this ship to rapidly go from the Alpha Quadrant to the Gamma Quadrant.
Th' ship's REALLY nice. Th' cabin's are like hotel suites, and it makes th' Liberty look like my old ship, all dinky and taped together. Shara just 'bout lost her mind when she saw Sickbay.
I'm readin' about the ship, and I gotta keep flippin' back and forth 'cause they refer to stuff like I should know it - like these quadrant things. Sounds like those quadrants are on the opposite sides o' their galaxy, and they gotta use some interspacial rift to get from one ta th' other, but it's unpredictable. With warpport, all the power of the engines goes into beamin' the ship from point A ta B.
Even with alla that power, though -- turns out there's a problem. The warpport drive ain't accurate. It gets ya close, relatively speakin', but you still gotta run the last leg of th' trip on a regular warp engine. Since most of th' ship's set aside fer th' warpport drive, the regular warp drive's limited to a pokey Warp 3. Guess that's ok, though, since ya get zapped lotsa light-years in one big whack. Guess I'm gonna have ta put th' "Double Ds" (Deliah and Damian) on th' spot ta really get this thing figured out.
Th' fact that this ship uses a goofy drive kinda worries me. Ain't like th' Transporter is the' most reliable bit o' gear ever invented. Then there's th' wild card o' Navaar -- why'd she give us such a nice appearin' gig? Lady freakin' hates us.... There's just somethin' we're missin'....

It's quiet. I dun trust th' quiet.
So... we're 'tween missions right now. Liberty's orbiting' Tynnara, 'n aside from me accident'll firin' a photon torpedo at one o' Boss's ships, things've been downright quiet. Most o' th' crew's gone off on shore leave, since we dun have any idea when Navaar may call us ta go run some cockamamie errand o' hers.
Shara's off w' her new boyfriend, Dash. Most folks dun think it'll last. *snort* Most think it'll be cause o' th' "Green Widow" curse. Me, I give 'em both a decent chance, tho I'd ne'er say so w' Dash 'round. He ain't half bad, but last thing tha' guy needs is a bigger frakkin' ego. Blue's off w' 'er family, or havin' Damian visit, or she's visitin' Boss -- unless Boss's off on a mission w' his reunit'd squad. Arienh... hell, I got no idea where tha' girl's at, but I figure she's prolly breakin' hearts wherev'r she's at.
Which leaves me wanderin' a bit. Fer someone who usedta bop 'round th' galaxy by hisself, I sure got ta likin' folks 'round. It's weird ta have th' ship be quiet right now. 'Specially... w'out Lorinne. Miss 'er a lot. Found one o' 'er bras unner th' bed when I wuz lookin' fer a clean pair o' shorts. Tha' suck'd. I ain't ne'er been one ta get sentim'ntal, but... damn.
Been tryin' ta lay offa th' booze a lil, too. Ain't real easy, 'specially when stuff ain't happenin'. Right now all I wanna do is crawl inna bottle o' rum 'r scotch 'n jus' get good 'n numb. There's other folks dependin' on me now, tho, and I dun wanna let 'em down.
Been tryin' ta learn more 'bout Liberty 'n how she works. I must be th' only cap'n inna galaxy tha' dunno how ta pilot th' ship he's on. Tha' bugs me. Plus I gotta itch ta fly somethin'.
In th' totally weird departm'nt... Tha' wacky pirate chick, G'naal... If I didn't know bett'r, I'd think tha' she's lonely 'n lookin' fer a friend. Tol' 'er she could comm me anytime, we'll see whut happens there. She best not beam me w'out permiss'on 'gain tho. I figgure it can't hurt ta be on 'er good side, jus' in case.
I ain't much o' a writer, 'n I'm jus' 'bout outta stuff ta say. Jus'... I kinda hope somethin' happ'ns soon. Bein' pretty much 'lone right after I got usedta likin' folks bein' 'round... really sucks.

Testin'... testin'
Makin' sure this thing is workin'. Been asked ta keep a log o' events fer future ref'rence. Dunno why, prolly some damn fool thing Navaar wants so she c'n sell 'em 'r somethin'. Karkin' calculator's always lookin' ta turn a profit.
